This page shows you how to upgrade the SmartDataCenter platform image. The platform image is the operating system image used by the head node and the compute nodes.
|This procedure applies only to upgrading the platform image on SmartDataCenter 6.5.1. Do not use it to upgrade the platform image of any other version of SmartDataCenter|
To upgrade the SmartDataCenter platform image you will need to:
- Back up the current head node
- Obtain the platform image upgrade file
- Perform the basic upgrade
The platform upgrade procedure requires rebooting the head node and the compute nodes. When the head node is down, your customers will not be able to provision new machines using the Customer Portal. When the compute nodes are rebooting, customers will not be able to log into their machines.
