Installing Triton DataCenter
This page will walk you through the process of planning, installing, and configuring your Triton DataCenter installation for use. Each section addresses a logical set of tasks that culminate in a functional Triton installation.
Customers with a support plan, or customers planning on purchasing a support plan, should only install updates from the support channel. Additionally, new customers or customers standing up a new installation need to attend a deployment review session with Joyent support. Failure to do so may result in an unsupportable installation.
If you do not have a support plan, proceed with the following steps to get the latest OSS and upgrade to the latest release or developer version.

|Head node installation||Bring a head node to a fully running state, including CloudAPI and AdminUI services.|

|Server parameters||Setting per-server parameters such as simultaneous multi-threading.|
|Advanced configuration||Setup fabric networking (VXLan) and Docker functionality.|
|Custom image management setup||Setup custom image management functionality.|
|Container Name Service||Setup and configure Triton Container Name Service.|
|Software updates||Apply recommended updates from Joyent Support to your Triton installation.|
|End user portal setup||Installing, configuring, and deploying the single sign on (SSO) and portal zone functionality.|
|Operations setup and testing||Adding packages, images, and a test user to verify the installation.|
|Client setup and testing||Installing the smartdc, triton, and sdc-docker toolsets on a workstation and performing basic client tests.|
|Securing endpoint access||Adding SSL certificates to AdminUI, CloudAPI, and sdc-docker.|
